Current projects for Semester 1, 2007-2008.
Portal
- Portal Maintenance: Manage and oversee ADW’s applications and functions on the HCT Portal.
- Integrated Attendance: Manage and maintain the Dip Fnds. Attendance Application on the Portal.
- PDA: Manage and maintain the PDA Application on the HCT Portal.
- Proctor & Exam module: Manage and maintain the Exam-Proctor Application on the ADW Resources Page of the HCT Portal.
- Grade Management System: Liaise with HCT Portal administrator in the operation and functionality of the GM Sin the HCT Portal.
- PDS: Manage and maintain the PD System on the ADW Resources Page of the HCT Portal.
- LabWeb: Manage and maintain Lab Web room booking system on the ADW Resources Page of the HCT Portal.
- E Bookings: Develop an enhance .NET application “E-Bookings” to replace LabWeb on the ADW Resources Page of the HCT Portal.
Internet/intranet
- ADW Internet site: Maintain and update as required ADW’s Internet site
- Sharepoint Administrator @ ADW: To Project Manage the implementation strategy for the use of Microsoft SharePoint Services (MOSS 2007) at Abu Dhabi Women’s College. Coordinate the training for Department and Course site Administrators at ADW
- Sharepoint Training @ ADW: Coordinate the training plan for faculty and staff users of MOSS 2007 at ADW.
E-learning
- BlackBoard VISTA Administrator: Overall Administration of the ADWC course set to ensure the successful implementation of Blackboard Vista.
- BlackBoard Training @ ADW: Systematic skills based training for Instructors and Designers will be delivered to the majority of ADWC faculty.
- Student BlackBoard Site: A student training site that gives students practical experiences to familiarize them with the commonly used tools in Vista. Students will interact with training videos, will follow printed instructions to complete tasks and will complete online assessments for reinforcement. Communication, Assessment and Content tools will be covered.
- English 124 BlackBoard project: This project facilitates the creation of a Blended Learning project for the ENGL 124 course. Materials creation will be the responsibility of the project team while the Ed Tech Project Leader will have responsibility for the creation of a Blackboard Vista site using the supplied materials. Additionally, the Ed Tech Project Leader will have overall project management responsibilities.
- English 174 BlackBoard project: This project facilitates the creation of a Blended Learning project for the ENGL 164 course. Materials creation will be the responsibility of the project team while the Ed Tech Project Leader will have responsibility for the creation of a Blackboard Vista site using the supplied materials.
- Pod-Casting @ ADW: To build up a resource of podcasts selected by the Health Education Department and to host them at Podcast Central @ ADW.
- Writing Feedback generator: To collaborate with an English Department team in developing an online resource suitable for providing diploma level students with detailed feedback on their writing assessments.
- Ed Tech Blog @ ADW: To create and maintain the ED Tech @ ADW Blogsite which provides an opportunity for ADW faculty and staff to receive information and access and to E-Learning initiatives , training materials, Ed Tech projects, discussions and blogging resources at ADW.
During the second half of this semester, materials will be developed to support faculty in more advanced tool use and pedagogical implementation of blended learning.
Administration
- ERMS: Collaborate with a production team at DMC in the design and development of a .NET application, “Employee Relations Management System (ERMS)” to facilitate Work Placement and Alumnae Job opportunities at ADW.
- Student Support Centre project: To create a student SharePoint Site which provides access to Student Support Services available from the ACS and Std Services departments at ADW.
PD
- Tech Handbook: To maintain and update the Tech Handbook of e-resources provided to new hirees and staff during ADW Orientation.
- PD Coordination: To coordinate the in-house Professional Development (PD) program for faculty and staff and ADW.
- MS Vista & Office 2007 training: To coordinate the faculty and Staff training for the implementation of MS VISTA operating system and Office 2007 @ ADW.
